Understanding
the Problem
Noon Radio (noon.jo) needed a modern web platform to serve their live radio broadcasts, podcast library, and on-demand content to a growing digital audience. The key challenge was maintaining uninterrupted audio playback as users navigated between pages — a problem that traditional page-based architectures couldn't solve without a complete SPA approach.
How We Built It
Architected a React SPA with a global audio context that persists playback state across all route changes, ensuring zero-interruption listening
Integrated HLS.js and DASH.js for adaptive bitrate live radio streaming, automatically adjusting quality based on the listener's network conditions
Built a persistent floating mini-player that remains visible during browsing, with expand/collapse animation, track info, and playback controls
Implemented OAuth 2.0 authentication with Google and Facebook providers for frictionless sign-up and personalized listening history
Developed a podcast hosting module with episode management, RSS feed generation, and player embeds for cross-platform distribution
Designed an Arabic-first RTL layout with full bilingual support (Arabic/English), respecting cultural UX patterns for the Jordanian audience
